California Credential or Certificate Application


  • Complete the Credential Request Form below. A new request and fee will be required for each authorization.
  • The FPU Credentials Office will check documents, verify eligibility and recommend the credential. Requests will be processed in the order they are received. Please allow at least five (5) days from the receipt of the request. If additional documentation is required you will be informed by e-mail.
  • Once the Credentials Office has submitted the online recommendation you will be notified by CTC to complete the personal and professional fitness and payment portions of the process. Within a day or two CTC will send you a notice of receipt. (All correspondence will take place via e-mail.)
  • Within five to ten working days you will receive confirmation that your credential has been granted, providing there are no extenuating circumstances. Confirmation will come from the CTC and may be taken to a school district for employment purposes. FPU will no longer issue Letters of Verification(C-19 letters).
  • The CTC no longer mails paper copies of your credential. To print a copy of your credential you may log in to the CTC website using your social security number and date of birth. The website is https://teachercred.ctc.ca.gov/teachers/PersonalSearchProxy.
